I used this song in an essay back in senior year. I was talking about
how Newton was able to help us "learn to breathe" and understand gravity.
Ingrid Ponce gave me this song to write about.

And I've been listening to it now.
Over
and
over
again.

And it's not about physics or Newton anymore.
It's about Kuya Jess and how immense His greatness/awesomeness is :)
It's about when we have nothing, we have Him.
It's about how much we go on and forget Him, how much we ignore Him.
Yet it's also about how He never forgets nor ignores us. :)

If you knew me in high school. HAHA. Edi you knew me in high school! :))

But seriously.
I didn't believe any of this back then.
I was explaining to a friend that if my high school self would be having
a conversation with the me NOW, my high school self wouldn't believe.

My high school self wouldn't probably believe that I'm a Jesus-freak, so to speak, now.
I find it really amazing/funny/weird how the universe conspires to change us.

But you know, what's the most comforting thing about all this, my faith, this song?

The song had no meaning to me back then. I didn't see good in everything. I didn't see nor feel God.
Fast forward to now.
This song... How I hope in Him. How I have faith that he will always, always take care of the people I love (thats you, dear reader haha).

The most comforting thing about all this -- He was always there. He IS always here. Always.
Even at times when I was not there with Him.

He's just there.
I'd like to picture Kuya Jess, with a big fat smile on His face, holding out His arms, looking like He's been waiting for that one hug from you for a pretty long time :)

I love how He reveals Himself to me in the people I get to see everyday.
(Oh yes dear reader, you are Jess to me:))
I love how love gets around so much.

I told another friend I love love.
And he said, it is and His love for us is so immense that we can't even grasp the whole of it (haha rephrased, sorry). Unconditional nga e.

All this is still surreal for me. But I've been feeling great a lot these days :)
And it's all because of Him :)

We cannot predict how life would lead us, but I've always found my life to be short...in the most literal sense. I do have a LOT of health problems, mind you. But it's not severe, oh no, but it's the consciousness that I am only limited in space and time. That is why, I hope everyone would understand, that I make everyday...each and every second...the best moments I could ever taste as a human being. I want to feel happiness, sadness, depression, laughter, a dose of craziness, a whole pack of love, and even feeling your life close to the inch of death. I want to be whole as an individual, and I want to make the best out of it.

I owe everything to the path I go to, but at the back of my mind, I will always put it into heart that we don't know when we will be whisked away to His Kingdom. So, I make each and every moment the BEST thing I can possibly can. And each waking day, I want to shout to the world that I have made my life the best as I could be. No regrets, but sailing on!

If you love life and all its quirks, then welcome aboard!

Characteristics of those I'd want to meet? Very simple criteria. Other than loving life, there's another thing that you should always put in mind: Love yourself and love the others who love you. You can only find true meaning in life if you find yourself, and appreciate those who love you back.

Understanding takes a gradual time to realize itself. The first thing that we must do is to detach ourselves from our overzealous thinking. In other words, take away the lenses that we've always lived by and try to fit into theirs. True understanding exists when we have matched our lenses with theirs. That is, you see the two different perspectives at once.

 Mantigue is a small island 20 minutes away from mainland Camiguin. You have to ride a pump boat to get there. It has about 300 residents but the government does not seem to take notice. They would want to ‘advertise’ the island as some sort of sanctuary and since there is minimal government support; people are living off what they could get from the island.

            Children do have their Mantigue Elementary School. Problem is it is under reconstruction from destruction form heavy storms. The locals are trying to do what they can to restore their school.

            Mang Roger Santos, the only local brave enough to talk to tourists and the only college graduate, makes the effort to keep the island alive through teaching all he knows in the elementary school and asking for donations from tourists (foreign and otherwise) for donations There had been good foreigners who came back and donated books, why can’t we?
